Announcing Our FY25 EPIC Awards Winner for Entrepreneurial Spirit!

    The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021: Reinvesting in HCBS, Rehabilitative Services, TCM, Home Health, & Personal Care Services

    The COVID-19 pandemic has made providing Medicaid services more challenging for human services agencies. For example, agencies are working hard to serve communities when physical locations are often required to close temporarily. During the pandemic, homes of service recipients can be significantly isolating as well, and individuals often need to move their residence to another location where others are available to accompany and care for them.

    U.S. District Court judge blocks NH Medicaid work requirements

    On July 29, 2019, U.S. District Court Judge James E. Boasberg, D.C., held that work requirements intended to go into effect in New Hampshire could not be implemented because of a failure to adequately consider the effect on Medicaid coverage. Judge Boasberg previously blocked work requirements scheduled in Kentucky and Arkansas. Those cases were Gresham v. Azar, No. 18-1900 (JEB) (D.D.C. Mar. 27, 2019) and Stewart v. Azar, No. 18-152 (JEB) (D.D.C. Mar. 27, 2019).
